Ingredients

GRIND TO PASTE

  • Raw Rice - 1 tsp

  • Thuvar Dal - 1 tsp

  • Bengal Gram - 1 tsp

  • Jeera - 1 tsp

  • Coriander Seeds - 2 tsp

  • Ginger - 1/4th Inch

  • Green Chilies - 2 nos

  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp

  • Coconut grated - 2.5 tbsp (optional)

  • Pumpkin - 1.5 cup cubed

  • Yogurt - 2 cups

  • Salt

  • Water - 1.5 cups

  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp

  • Mustard - 1 tsp

  • Red Chili - 1 (broken)

  • Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp

  • Curry Leaves - few

Directions

  1. Soak raw rice, thuvar dal, Bengal gram, jeera and coriander seeds for 20 to 30 mins

  2. Grind the soaked ingredients along with green chilies and ginger

  3. Boil pumkin with turmeric powder

  4. Beat yogurt well and mix the 1.5 cups of water

  5. Add boiled pumpkin and ground paste to the beaten yogurt and bring it to boil for 10 to 12 mins

  6. Heat coconut oil and add mustard, curry leaves and red chili. Let it splutter

  7. Add this to the gravy, mix well and serve hot.
