Ravai Modhagam

Ingredients:

  • Ravai (Semolina) - 1 cup

  • Boiling Water - 2 cups

  • Jaggery - ¾ cup

  • Grated Coconut - ¼ cup (I used frozen)

  • Cardamom Powder - ¼ tsp

  • Ghee - 2 tbsp

Directions:

  1. Boil jaggery with 4 tbsp or 5 tbsp of water. Once jaggery dissolves filter it for impurities

  2. Heat some ghee. Add the ravai/semolina and dry roast till they are golden brown on low flame

  3. Add boiling water and stir till the semolina is cooked

  4. Add the filtered jaggery and mix well

  5. Turn of the heat and add cardamom powder and grated coconut

  6. Mix them well. Let it cool a bit and then make small balls

  7. Steam these balls for 6 to 7 mins
