Sukha Kala Channa

Ingredients

  • Kala Chana - I cup (Soaked overnight with 1 tsp of salt)

  • Ghee - 3 tbsp (2+1)

  • Jeera - 2 tsp (1 + 1)

  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp

  • Chana masala - 1 tbsp

  • Asofoetida - 1/2 tsp

  • Amchur powder - 2 tsp

  • Garam masala - 1 tsp

  • Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp

  • Black salt - 1/2 tsp

  • Ginger - 1.5 inch

  • Green Chillies - 1 or 2 slit

  • Coriander leaves

  • Hot water - 1/2 cup

Direction

  1. Cooked the soaked kala channa with 3 cups of water, salt, ghee and 1 tsp jeera.

  2. Make a slurry of hot water, kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder, chana masala, and coriander powder.

  3. Heat ghee, add jeera. Once it splutters, add the slurry and cook till ghee separates.

  4. Add the cooked chana along with the water and other ingredients and cook until water evaporates.

  5. Garnish with coriander leaves.
